COVID-19 Visitor Restrictions 

  • Maximum of 2 people a day between 10am – 4pm
  • Do NOT visit if you have returned a positive COVID-19 test in the last 6 weeks
  • Do NOT visit if you are unwell
  • Do NOT visit if you have been overseas in the last 14 days
  • Please do not visit if you have been in contact with a COVID-19 positive person in the last 14 days
  • Remember Social Distancing at the bedside

How long do patients stay?

The length of stay for a rehabilitation patient will vary depending on their medical condition. The estimated length of stay is discussed with your treating Doctor and you will updated throughout your stay.

Discharge from Melbourne Eastern Rehabilitation

Where possible, we ask that patients complete their discharge by 09:30am. Prior to leaving, please attend the front reception to complete any final documentation and finalise the balance of your account.

Discharge from Day Surgery

Day Patients – once you have recovered from your surgery and anaesthetic and have met the required discharge criteria, you may return home accompanied by a support person.

Private rooms

Private rooms are allocated on a medical needs basis. If a private room is available we will endeavour to accommodate your request.

Visiting Hours

Monday to Friday: 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Visiting hours are designed to support patients to participate in their programs with minimal interruptions. However, alternate times can be arranged with nursing staff if needed.

To optimise our patients’ well-being and pathway to wellness, it is stressed that visiting should not be overdone. For further information, please check with your Doctor.
